
Badgers in Wisconsin State open Aug. 23-25

<b>Madison, Wis. </b> - Several current and former Badgers have qualified for the Wisconsin State Open taking place Aug. 23-25 at The Legend of Bristlecone in Hartland, Wis. The course will play to a par 71 and measure just over 7,000 yards.
Head coach Jim Schuman and assistant coach Brian Brodell lead a contingent of past Badgers including Patrick Duffy, Jordan Elsen, Dylan Esterling, Wes Hansen, Robert Gregorski, Garrett Jones, Tyler Obermueller, Joel Rechlicz, David Roesch, Ryan Helminen, Adam Steinhofer, Mario Tiziani, Jon Turcott, Ben Walter, Kirk Wieland, Dan Woltman and Daniel Zimmerman.
Current Badgers participating include Mike Sorenson, Sam Frank and Thomas Welk.
UW has had its share of winners of the event including a champion each of the past eight years. Past UW champions include Ben Walter (1994, 1997, 2005), Jon Turcott (2003, 2006), Mario Tiziani (2002), David Roesch (2004), Ryan Helminen (2008), and Dan Woltman (2007, 2009). Schuman won his Open titles in 1996 and 1999.
