With 13 true freshmen in addition to two transfers, the Wisconsin men’s soccer team has many new faces for the upcoming season. Follow along as UWBadgers.com introduces the newest Badgers during preseason training camp. Today, we meet freshman Max Jentsch of Hartland, Wis.
Why did you choose Wisconsin?
I chose Wisconsin because of the great academics and the great sports teams. My mom went to UW for school, so I’ve wanted to be a Badger since I was little.
What goals do you have for the upcoming season?
I’m hoping to earn the starting spot in goal and do whatever I can to help the team out.
How did you spend your summer?
I spent it running, working out, spending time with friends and going wakeboarding.
What is the strongest part of your game?
Shot stopping and handling crosses
What part of your game needs the most work?
Being louder
What is your favorite thing about Madison?
Everyone has a moped.
What are your pregame rituals?
I like to listen to music and visualize saves I’ve made before.
Outside of soccer, what is your best talent?
Probably playing basketball

Zoology

Hanging out with friends or relaxing
