
Badgers complete inaugural Hooters Tournament at 19th

Dahlonega, Ga. - The duo of Lindsay Danielson and Alyssa Elliott slipped from fifth to 19th after the third and final round of of the 54-hole inaugural Hooters Women's Collegiate Team Championship at Achasta, By Reynolds in Dahlonega, Ga.
The two soon-to-be sophomores finished the third round with a combined score of 160 to finish at 9-over par for the tournament with a 297. They shot a 7-under par 70-67--137 in the second round to rank among the top five teams.
The leaders through two rounds, Brooke Pancake and Jennifer Kirby of Alabama, relinquished their four shot lead in the final round as Wake Forest's Michelle Shin and Cheyenne Woods had a combined score of 139 to pull off the vistory with a 15-under par 72-62-139--273. The Alabamo duo finished 13-under par with a 68-65-142--275.
Wisconsin's other two golfers in the tournament, Ellie Arkin and Carly Werwie, finished 33rd with a 25-over par 83-71-162--311.
Fifty-five (55) two-person teams are competing, comprised of top current women's collegiate golfers. Each team will pair players from the same university in a 54-hole stroke play event. Arkin and Werwie form one team, and Elliott and Danielson are the other team from Wisconsin.
The format of the Championship is Day 1 (Aug. 3): Alternate Shot; Day 2 (Aug. 4): Best Ball; and Day 3 (Aug. 5): Aggregate Score of the two players. Teams are comprised of players from all levels of collegiate golf including 42 Division I, 4 Division II, 6 Division III and one NAIA program.
Achasta, by Reynolds is located in Dahlonega, Georgia one hour north of Atlanta. The par-72 Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course is situated in a picturesque valley. This 18 hole, 6,995-yard design encourages walking, allowing you to enjoy the game in its purest form.
