Louisville, Ken. - The UW men's golf team finished the first two rounds of the Cardinal Invitational in Louisville, Ky., in 11th place with a 290-293--583. Marshall is currently in first place with a 36-hole score of 566, giving them a two stroke lead over Miami University (OH). Louisville (570) is in third, followed by Illinois State and Kennesaw State tied for fourth with a 571.
Wisconsin's leaders are Stephane Dubois and Anthony Aicher, who are tied for 24th with a 144. Christopher Meyer is tied for 48th with a 148, Robert Jacobsen, who is making his collegiate debut, is tied for 53rd with a 149, and Michael Sorenson is tied for 65th with a 152.
The Badgers set a number of significant marks on the first day of competition. Anthony Aicher tied his career 18-hole best with a 69 and has a new career 36-hole mark of 144. Stephane Dubois tied his career 18-hole best with a 71 and set a new 36-hole mark of 144. Christopher Meyer set a new career best with a 75 and added a new 36-hole best with his 148. The 290 and 293 18-hole team scores are the best 18-hole rounds of the season as is the 36-hole total of 583.
The Cardinal Intercollegiate concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday.
