
Women's rowing announces 2011-12 schedule

MADISON, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin women's rowing program announced its schedule for the 2011-12 season, highlighted by trips to Boston, California and races against every rowing program in the Big Ten
The Badgers will begin their fall season in Milwaukee on Sept. 17 at the Milwaukee River Challenge. The following weekend the Badgers return home to host their annual Class Day, where alumni return and race against current UW rowers on Lake Mendota.
Wisconsin’s fall season concludes with three head races in October. On Oct. 9, the Badgers will compete in the Head of the Rock in Rockford, Ill. On Oct. 22-23, the team will compete at the Head of the Charles in Boston. The Badgers finish the fall season at the Head of the Iowa on Oct. 30 in Iowa City, Iowa.
The Badgers begin their spring season April 7 in Bloomington, Ind. with Big Ten foes Indiana and Ohio State. The next weekend they travel to Gold Hills, Calif. for the Lake Natoma Invitational.
The rivalry with Minnesota is renewed with a trip to Minneapolis on April 29 before the Big Ten Championships begin on May 13 in Indianapolis.
Wisconsin closes out the 2012 season in Mercer, N.J. at the NCAA Championships on May 25-27.
