Badgers complete weather-shortened Firestone Invitational

Akron, Ohio- The Badgers dropped to a tie for 14th with 300-307--607 in the weather-shortened 36-hole Firestone Invitational held at the Firestone Country Club in Arkon, Ohio. Frost cancelled the first 18 of 36 holes Monday. After another frost delay, the tournament concluded with 18 holes on Tuesday.
Ball State remained in the lead and was the only team to finish under par with a 7-under 282-287--569.
Maryland's Sean Bosdosh improved from third place afer day one to claim medalist honors over two Ball State players with a 5-under par 69-70--139.
Freshman Matt Ross starred in his collegiate debut to tie for 22nd with a 4-over par 73-75--148 to lead the Badgers. Senior Chris Meyer and sophomore Thomas O'Bryan moved up to a tie for 57th with 9-over par 153.
First round leader Anthony Aicher saw his score plummet after even par 72 in the first round to tie for 68th with a 72-82--154. Junior Brady Keegan was 89th with a 19-over 82-81--163.
