MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin captain Paul Yonga’s strong performance in UW’s quarterfinals loss to Michigan earned him a spot on the Big Ten’s all-tournament team, the conference announced Sunday.
Yonga makes his return to the all-tournament team after a one-year absence, having also made the team during his freshman season, in 2010.
Yonga was a part of a Wisconsin defense that steadily improved over the course of the season and provided strong leadership to a young Badger squad.
For the second straight season, Yonga started every game for UW, one-of-only-four Badgers to do so. The junior found the back of the net in Wisconsin’s Sept. 9 match against Georgetown, helping the Badgers draw against a highly-ranked Hoyas team.
