Head Coach Bo Ryan Quotes

On Matt Gatens:
"We tried to make him work hard for them. We finally disrupted him to some extent. If he’s going to make shots, we want them to be tough twos. But he got hot. He is on a consistent streak and is playing really well. And we knew that, it’s not like we were surprised. You have to give a guy credit when he can knock those kinds of shots down.“

On the play of his bench:
"We needed that. The guys were getting their breaks, getting back in and showing a little life. Defensively, we obviously did much better in the second half."

On the turning point of the game:
"Bad decisions. That’s why it’s called a turnover. I don’t think you can describe it any other way. Guys were anxious to make the great play rather than a good play. It’s part of the game, but usually for us it’s not. We need to make better decisions."

On preparing for Ohio State:
"We will prepare for Ohio State just like any other game. We know who they are and what they are. We will have to compete because they are a very good team.“

On losing two games to unranked Iowa:
"I know too much about the game. People don’t talk like that to me. They don’t want to insult my intelligence. So people would say, ‘Iowa’s a good team.’  People know that Iowa is a good team. We won’t bang our heads. The other team played better."
