
Women's golf hands out end-of-season awards

MADISON, Wis. -- The Badger women's golf team celebrated its season at its team awards banquet May 4 at the Heritage Hall in Camp Randall Stadium. Several golfers were recognized for performance and academic-related awards.
Award winners are as follows:
Academic Excellence – Kimberly Dinh (4.0 in Engineering – last spring and this fall)
Newcomer – Kimberly Dinh (Low tourney scoring average for new player) - compiled a 77.63 stroke average in 24 rounds
Badger Power – Jessie Gerry (Leadership in Strength and Conditioning)
Low Putting Average – Jessie Gerry (Lowest Puts per green in regulation)
Most Improved – Jessie Gerry (1.3 shots) - averaged 76.73 through all 30 rounds; concluded her career ranked seventh in career average with 77.83 strokes per round.
Player of the Year – Lindsay Danielson (Low scoring average) - averaged 75.90 through 30 rounds
In addition, Gerry was recognized as the Big Ten Sportsmanship honoree. Those awards are given to one individual on each conference team who has distinguished herself through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These student-athletes must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
