
Wanland claims eighth at the U.S. Olympic Trials

MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin’s Ashley Wanland finished her run in the 100-meter breaststroke at the U.S. Olympic Trials posting a time of 1:07.89 in the finals on Wednesday night in Omaha, Neb.
The senior from Long Grove, Ill., entered the finals with the fourth best time out of the semifinals. Her time of 1:07.89 in the finals gave out her in eighth place in the event.
Wanland still has one more event left at the trials, competing in the 200 breast on Friday, with the finals being held on Saturday.
Wisconsin’s Wes Lagerhausen and Michael Weiss will swim tomorrow in the men’s 100 free and 200 breast, respectively.
