Badgers part of loaded Battle 4 Atlantis field in 2014

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Less than a week removed from winning the 2013 Cancun Challenge, the Wisconsin men’s basketball team has already made plans for a 2014 holiday tournament. The Badgers will be one of eight teams heading to the Bahamas to play in the Battle 4 Atlantis.
The 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis field will be the strongest in history. In addition to Wisconsin, the tournament will feature North Carolina, UCLA, Georgetown, Florida, Butler, Oklahoma and UAB. The thrilling 12-game tournament will be held the week of Thanksgiving, November 26-28, 2014.

Each team is guaranteed three games over the three-day tournament. The eight-team field has combined for 195 NCAA Tournament appearances, as well as 53 Final Four Appearances and 20 National Championships.
In addition to an outstanding field, Atlantis welcomes ESPN as a new TV partner this year in a three-year TV deal, alongside three-year veteran partner AXS TV. The 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis games will be aired live on both networks from Atlantis’ Imperial Arena.
This will mark the Badgers’ eighth tropical-location tournament in the last 10 years. UW has made recent appearances in the Cancun Challenge (2013), the Las Vegas Invitational (2012), the Old Spice Classic in Orlando, Fla. (2011), the Maui Invitational (2009), the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands (2008), the South Padre (Texas) Invitational (2006) and the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands (2005).
Villanova won the 2013 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, following in the footsteps of Duke (2012) and Harvard (2011).
