Corner Kick: Get to Know Kodee Williams

How did you spend your summer?
I went home for a month right after school ended. Then I came back and have been here since mid-June. I spent most of my time in class or studying. I took a Philosophy class and a Gender & Women’s Studies class but when I wasn’t doing that I spent a lot of time out at the Terrace and on the lake with my roommates. It was nice that they were around because that helped pass a lot of the dead time I had this summer.”
What is your living situation for the fall semester?
“I’m staying in my same place I lived during the spring which is nice because I don’t have to worry about the hassle of moving. We now have a house of eight girls and two girls below us are moving out so Becky (McGrath) and Bri (Stelzer) are now moving in so we’ll have four people from our team, along with four other girls.”
What are you most excited for this upcoming season?
“I’m excited to see our young talent come in. We’re still a very young team who will be together for two years. To be honest I’m just excited to get back on the field and play soccer again. Our schedule is solid and it should set us up for a pretty good season.”
What have you focused on most this season?
During the summer I’ve focused a lot on fitness – trying to maintain my shape and stay fit in the off-season. As the season approaches, I’m focusing a lot on having that competitive nature and hopefully I can get that to rub off on some of the underclassmen and it becomes a team-wide mentality.”
