MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's soccer team has officially opened enrollment for its various winter soccer clinics. The 2015 camp lineup includes the Winter Center of Excellence, College ID Clinic and the Mother Daughter Soccer Clinic.
Each clinic is open to any and all interested entrants and offers the opportunity for participants to interact with various UW coaches and players in an exciting and professional soccer setting. A great holiday gift for the soccer player in your household, all three camps will take place on the McClain Center turf inside the Camp Randall Stadium grounds.
Wisconsin women's soccer kicks off the winter camp season with its Center of Excellence in January. The Center of Excellence consists of two separate blocks, the first running from January 7-28. The second block is scheduled to begin February 11 and end March 4.
The various Winter Center of Excellence sessions will occur on Wednesday nights and are open to participants 8-18 years old. From 6:45 p.m.-8 p.m. (CT), the clinic will be held for players 8-12 years old, and from 8:15 p.m.-9:30 p.m. coaches and players will work with participants 13-18 years old.
The four sessions will provide young players the opportunity to develop all facets of their skill set. Each week will focus on a different skill with the aim of enhancing participants' technical abilities in a creative, challenging and fun way.
Similar to the Winter Center of Excellence, the College ID Clinic will be comprised of two separate sessions. The first will take place on Sunday, Jan. 25, and the second on Sunday, Feb. 15. Each session will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to grades 8-12.
The College ID camp is designed specifically for players intending to play soccer at the collegiate level. It will provide participants with a greater understanding of the demands of a Division I Women's Soccer program, as well as provide them with a competitive and exciting upper-level environment.
The final clinic of the winter camp lineup is the Mother Daughter Clinic, which will take place on Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The camp is open to girls grades 1-7, as well as their mothers. This clinic is appropriate for all skill levels and provides a chance for young females to connect with their mothers through the game of soccer.
