Additional television broadcast added for weekend series

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men’s hockey team will have an additional television broadcast for its Big Ten-opening series with Penn State this weekend, as Saturday’s game will air on American Sports Network.
Three additional games, including Feb. 7 at Penn State, Feb. 14 at Ohio State and March 13 against Ohio State, are also expected to air.
This Saturday’s game will appear in eight areas of Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, including five in the Badgers’ home state.
WMSN-2 will carry coverage on GetTV in Madison, while WCGV will broadcast the contest on MyTV in Milwaukee.
Fans located in Eau Claire, Wausau-Rhinelander and La Crosse, Wisconsin can tune in, as well. The game will also stream live on the BTN2Go app and BTN2Go.com.
The game can be viewed on channel 47-2 in Madison, so unplug the cable box, set up an antenna and flip one up channel from where the 2014 Big Ten Championship game for football will air (47-1).
Sam Smith and Joel Goldberg will call the conference tussle. Goldberg is a 1994 Wisconsin graduate and just completed his seventh season hosting the “Royals Live” pre-game and postgame show for the American League pennant-winning Kansas City Royals.
Wisconsin enters the weekend with a two-game unbeaten streak, tying and defeating Ferris State last Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Prior to the American Sports Network broadcast Saturday, ESPNEWS will air Friday’s game. John Buccigross will provide play-by-play, while UW Hobey Baker Award winner Blake Geoffrion handles color commentary duties. WatchESPN will stream the game live.
Both games are set for 8 p.m. puck drops.
