PAC the MAC doubleheader set for Aug. 29

MADISON, Wis. -- The sixth annual PAC the MAC soccer doubleheader is set to take place Friday, Aug. 29, at the McClimon Complex. The No. 19 women's soccer team will lead off the event by hosting non-conference opponent South Dakota State at 5 p.m., followed by the season opener for the No. 21 men's soccer team against San Francisco at 7:30 p.m.

The women's team looks to keep its strong start going after opening 2-0 at home last weekend with wins over Oregon and Tennessee. The men prepare to kick off their regular-season slate, entering 2014 with the nation's longest active home unbeaten streak (14).

The annual event will provide fans a great chance to get a look at each nationally-recognized UW soccer team, as both the men and women hold a place in their respective National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Rankings.

PAC the MAC includes a number of admission specials and giveaway promotions as a thanks to the fans in attendance.

ADMISSION SPECIALS:

• PAC the MAC Admission Special - All fans can purchase tickets at the gate for $1.

• UW Student Night - All UW students receive FREE admission with a valid student ID.

• Youth Admission Special - Admission to both games is FREE for youth soccer participants (ages 12 and under) wearing their jersey. Teams larger than 4 should pre-register by emailing Daniel Silber at dsilber@athletics.wisc.edu.

• MSCR/MAYSA Admission Special - Members of MSCR and MAYSA will receive FREE admission. Advanced registration is required. To register, email Daniel Silber at dsilber@athletics.wisc.edu.

• High School Team Admission Special - High school teams can receive FREE admission to the women's match by registering in advance. Email your team roster to Daniel Silber at dsilber@athletics.wisc.edu.

GIVEAWAYS AND PROMOTIONS:

• Sunglasses Giveaway - All fans will receive a FREE pair of Wisconsin Soccer Sunglasses (while supplies last).

• Poster Giveaway - Fans can receive a 2014 Wisconsin Men's Soccer schedule poster, courtesy of Wisconsin National Guard and a 2014 Wisconsin Women's Soccer schedule poster, courtesy of UW Health.

• Bucky's Prize Box - Fans will be able to register for a chance to win a ball signed by members of the Wisconsin Women's Soccer team and a ball signed by members of the Wisconsin Men's Soccer team.

• Pick the Minute Contest - Winner of "Pick the Minute" of the first Wisconsin goal contest (at the women's game only) will receive a Wisconsin Soccer Jersey.
