Badgers participate as individuals at Whistling Straits Intercollegiate

Ross placed tied for 19th at 16-over and Schofield tied for 34th with a 24-over 240
Sheboygan, Wis. – While Wisconsin men's golf squad had the week off from team competition, Matt Ross and Tommy Schofield took part in the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate, Oct. 12-13, as individual contenders.
Ross led the pair, finishing second among the individual golfers and tied for 19th overall. He recorded his best 18-hole score of the tournament in the second round when he went for a 4-over 76. Ross finished at a 16-over 78-76-78=232. The junior's performance marked his second top-25 placement of the year.
Schofield earned his best finish of the season at the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate, as he was tied for 34th and just two spots behind his teammate on the individual leaderboard. The Mundelein, Illinois, native registered identical first and second rounds of 7-over 79 before shooting an 82 in Round 3. He was a 24-over 240 for the competition.
Towson took first out of 10 schools with a 43-over 295-295-317=907 and Joe Duchateau of Green Bay was the top golfer on the player leaderboard at a 4-over 72-72-76=220.
Next up, the Badgers will participate in the Intercollegiate at The Grove, Oct. 25-27, in College Grove, Tennessee.
