Pete Kuhl of Illinois and Nick Robinson of California join the Badgers
MADISON, Wis. - Badger men's golf coach Michael Burcin will add two players to the UW men's golf roster next fall. Nick Robinson of Palos Verdes, California, and Pete Kuhl of Morton, Illinois, have both signed national letters of intent to attend the University of Wisconsin in 2016.
Kuhl finished tied for fifth in the 2015 Illinois High School Championship with a 4-over par 72-76—148, but led his Morton High School team to its second-straight state championship. The Peoria Journal Star Player of the Year had a stellar final season playing 234 holes of golf with a combined score of minus 40 in relation to par. The 6-3 Kuhl shot a 7-under 64 to qualify with a 139 for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship in the summer of 2015.
Robinson earned first team Ocean League honors while averaging a 37.825 league scoring average. He captured individual medalist honors at the South Hills Invitational and placed fifth at the Knabe Cup with a 2-under-par 70 at Lakewood Country Club. Palos Verdes won the past two state championship titles with Robinson's help.

"We feel very fortunate to continue our recruiting in California and get a player of Nick's ability. His junior schedule consisted of the AJGA and the Toyota Junior Tour in California, which is one of the top Jr. tours in the world. Being ranked No. 22 in California speaks to his prior results and the top level of talent that comes from that area of the country. Kudos to our assistant, Robbie Ziegler who continues his good recruiting work on the west coast. Nick has recorded eight top 10s in the past year while registering a scoring average of 71.7 in those events. "

Pete Kuhl- Morton, IL / Morton H.S.
Coach Michael Burcin on Kuhl
"Pete is a kid from the Midwest who in the last 12 months has really moved to another level with his game. He has spent a lot of time in Madison, and with family from the area. He is very familiar with Wisconsin athletics. This past summer Pete recorded two top-15 finishes in AJGA events. This was a lead-up to the fall when Kuhl was part of a back-to-back state championship team at Morton High School. As an individual, Pete was an astonishing cumulative 42-under par for his senior campaign at Morton."
"What is most exciting about these two is they are unbelievably motivated and excited to get to Madison. They will continue in what we have seen in our first few classes of kids who are totally committed to their academics and Badger Golf excelling at a national level. These are two wonderful kids from even better families and we expect them both to step right in and compete for a lineup spot in the fall immediately."
