Volleyball ends season ranked 10th

Third-straight year in top 10 for Badgers
 MADISON, Wis. – For the third straight season, the Wisconsin volleyball team ended the year ranked in the top 10 of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Coaches' poll.  The Badgers (26-7) finish the season ranked 10th, marking the eighth time in program history UW has ended the season in the top 10.
National champion Nebraska (32-4) ends the season ranked first. The Badgers downed the Huskers 3-1 in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Oct. 24 in the only meeting between the two teams this season. Texas (30-3) finished second after advancing to the national championship match. Minnesota (30-5) and Kansas (30-3), which both lost in the NCAA national semifinals, finished third and fourth, respectively. Southern California (33-3) rounds out the top five.
The Big Ten Conference landed eight teams in the final poll, including four in the top 10, the most of any league. Penn State (28-6) finishes ninth followed by Wisconsin. Ohio State (25-10) and Illinois (21-13) are 13th and 15th, respectively, while Purdue (23-10) comes in 17th. Michigan (20-13) is the final Big Ten team in the poll at 24th while Michigan State (19-14) receives votes.
