Baker selected to U.S. Junior Select Team

Recent signee to compete at 2016 World Junior A Challenge in December
MADISON, Wis. – Verona native Tarek Baker, who recently signed to join the Wisconsin men's hockey program, is among 21 players named to the 2016 U.S. Junior Select Team, USA Hockey announced on Tuesday.
Baker and his teammates will compete at the 2016 World Junior A Challenge that takes place Dec. 11-17 in Bonnyville, Alberta.
Baker, currently the captain for the USHL's Bloomington Thunder, boasts five goals and six points in 16 games played this season. The franchise's all-time leading scorer already owns international experience, having skated with the U.S. Under-17 Team during the 2013-14 campaign, when he posted an assist in four games for Team USA to help the squad win gold at the Five Nations Tournament.
Team USA will play a pre-tournament game against Canada West at 8:30 p.m. CT on Dec. 9 at the Cold Lake Energy Centre in Cold Lake, Alberta. The U.S. opens the tournament against the Czech Republic at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 12 at R.J. Lalonde Arena.

The current Badgers travel to Colorado this weekend for games at Colorado College and Denver. The Badgers meet the Tigers on Friday at 8:30 p.m. CT, then visit Denver for a Saturday tilt at 8 p.m.
