Wisconsin scored three en route to victory
IOWA CITY, IA. – In the Wisconsin women's soccer team's penultimate game, the Badgers marched into Iowa City Saturday night and took down the Hawkeyes in dominant fashion by a score of 3-0 thanks to Cameron Murtha, Dani Rhodes and Becca Harrison.
The Badgers (11-4-2 Overall, 5-3-2 Big Ten) broke open the scoring versus the Hawkeyes (8-6-2, 3-5-2) in the first half when Murtha took an assist from Sammy Kleedtke and found the back of the net in the 42nd minute.
Wisconsin entered the break with a 1-0 lead.
Entering the second half it was Rhodes who tacked onto Wisconsin's lead, taking the ball down the right side of the box and sneaking a ball past Iowa keeper Claire Graves to the left side of the net. It was Rhodes' 10th of the season.
Three minutes after Rhodes', senior Becca Harrison topped off the trifecta, scoring her second goal of the season in the 53rd minute.
Wisconsin goalie Caitlyn Clem notched her eighth shutout of the season and ended with three saves. Graves finished with seven saves on Wisconsin's 13 total shots.
Saturday's victory marked Wisconsin's fifth road win of the season.
Up next: The Badgers wrap up the 2017 regular season at the McClimon Complex versus Penn State on Oct. 25. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
