Volleyball ends season ranked 12th

Fifth-straight year among top-15 teams
MADISON, Wis. – For the fifth-straight season, the Wisconsin volleyball team ended the season ranked in the top 15 of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Coaches poll. The Badgers (22-10) wrapped up the 2017 season ranked 12th.
NCAA champion Nebraska (32-4) ends the season ranked first while national runner-up Florida (30-2) finishes seconds. National semifinalists Penn State (33-2) and Stanford (30-4) finished third and fourth, respectively. Elite Eight teams Texas (27-3), Kentucky (29-4), USC (25-10), and Michigan State (24-9) are ranked fifth through eighth, respectively. BYU (30-3) and Minnesota (28-6) round out the top 10.
The Big Ten Conference lands seven teams in the final poll. In addition to four teams in the top 10, Wisconsin finishes 12th, Illinois (23-11) comes in 17th, and Purdue (23-10) is 18th.
Wisconsin finished the 2016 season ranked fifth, the 2015 season ranked 10th, the 2014 season ranked fourth and the 2013 season ranked second.
