AMES, Iowa – Day one of the Iowa State Classic proved successful for the Wisconsin women's track and field team as the Badgers earned four top-five finishes Friday at the Lied Rec Center.

Junior Ebony McClendon had the fastest qualifying time of 7.53 seconds in the 60 meter preliminaries before tying her personal record of 7.45 to win the 60 meter finals. McClendon clocked the fifth fastest time in the Big Ten this season and ranks second in school history. Just an hour later in the 200 meters, the Chicago native recorded a season-best 24.12 placing second.

Sophomore Banke Oginni collected her fourth win of the season in the weight throw. Her first throw would prove to be her best, marking a massive 69 feet, 2 ½ inches.

Sophomore Emma Haugen placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 5-8 Âľ but failing to make it over at 5-10 Âľ, what would have been a personal record.

In the women's 5000 meter invitational, senior Michele Lee paced the Badgers with a ninth-place finish. Lee's time of 16:11.90 shattered her previous personal best. Amy Davis took 13th (16:14.05) while Alicia Monson finished in 14th (16:15.87) as both women set their own personal records.

Freshman Mary Bartelson just missed finals in the long jump, placing 10th with a jump of 17-5 ÂĽ.

In the 5000 meters sophomores Erin Wagner and Shaelyn Sorensen crossed the line in 16:56.28 and 16:57.00 to place fifth and sixth, respectively.

Senior Sarah Heinemann finished the day on the track for the Badgers with a time of 9:50.13 in the women's 3000 meter invitational run.
