
Wisconsin second in Learfield Directors’ Cup

Second-place women’s hockey finish moves Badgers up national rankings
MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin Athletic Department is in second place in the 2016-17 Learfield Directors' Cup Division I Winter standings, released March 23.
A second-place finish by the Badgers women's hockey team gave Wisconsin 90 points to bring its total to 572 points. UW also scored 60 points in women's swimming and diving with a 15th-place finish, 21 points in women's indoor track and field with a 52nd-place finish, and 14 points in men's indoor track and field with a 58th-place finish.
Men's basketball and men's swimming and diving rankings will be added on April 6.
Stanford currently leads the standings with 744.25 points. Big Ten Conference foes Michigan (540.25) and Penn State (532.75) are third and fourth, respectively. USC rounds out the top five with 492 points.
Wisconsin was in fourth place after the final fall standings with 324 points.
