UW begins postseason play on Monday
COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Wisconsin women's golf team will compete in the NCAA Columbus Regional Monday-Wednesday, May 8-10 on the Scarlet Course at The Ohio State Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio. The Badgers are making their fourth NCAA regional appearance in the last five years and their eighth overall.Â
Representing UW this week in Columbus are senior Michelle Cheung, juniors Gabby Curtis and Becky Klongland and sophomores Jessica Reinecke and Nat Zeng. Senior Brooke Ferrell, who is UW's career leader in scoring average, is unable to play due to a wrist injury. Cheung, Curtis and Klongland all competed in Wisconsin's most recent NCAA regional appearance as a team, in 2015.
The Badgers participated in a practice round on the Scarlet Course on Sunday. The last time Wisconsin played at Ohio State's home course was at the Lady Buckeye Invitational in April, 2013 but none of the current Badgers played in that tournament.
UW ended the regular season with a fourth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships. Klongland paced the squad, tying for eighth place individually.
As a team, Wisconsin's season average of 294.7 is nearly two strokes better than the school record of 296.5 set last season. Curtis, whose 74.45 scoring average this season is second-best on the team, leads Wisconsin with four rounds in the 60s this season.
Live scoring for the NCAA Columbus Regional is available via GolfStat. The Badgers are scheduled to tee off at 8:24Â a.m. ET on Monday.

Only fitting that the senior @michelleeee6895 leads off the practice round. Straight down the middle. #Badgers pic.twitter.com/eWza1snvKl

Coach Oehrlein is a vet of the Scarlet Course. Should come in handy this week. #Badgers pic.twitter.com/yUApGFa4Rx
