
Eleven Badgers named CRCA Scholar Athletes

Six openweights and five lightweights recognized
MADISON, Wis. – The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) released its list of 2017 Scholar Athlete Awards and a total of 11 Wisconsin women's rowers were included on the list. Among those, six Badger openweight and five UW lightweight rowers were included.
To be eligible, a student-athlete much be in at least their second year of eligibility and have rowed in a school's NCAA or IRA eligible boats for at least 75 percent of the spring season or have raced in regional conference event.
The recipient must boast a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average or higher for their career.
For the openweights, juniors Rosie Brezynski (London, England), Monica Gerber (San Rafael, California), Lily Hansen (San Anselmo, California) and Lexi Siverling (Cadott, Wisconsin), as well as sophomores Eliza Clifford (Bethesda, Maryland) and Renee Olley (Ashburton, New Zealand), were honored.
Hansen and Siverling are two-time winners after earning the accolade last season.
Senior Audrey Dalgarno (Brookline, Massachusetts), Juniors Mirha Girt (Vancouver, British Columbia), Eleanor Martin (Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin) and Brianna Wynne (Los Alamitos, California), as well as sophomore Alexandra Fochios (New York) were all recognized from the lightweight team.
Dalgarno, Girt and Martin were also honored after the 2016 season.
