MADISON, Wis. — Brett Favre started an NFL-record 297 consecutive games across 19 seasons of his Hall of Fame career.
Though it's hard to say just how much jeopardy Favre's ironman streak was actually in, an injury in his final appearance with the Green Bay Packers at Camp Randall Stadium certainly brought the record-setting run into question in 1999.
Favre, playing in his sixth Packers preseason game at Camp Randall, smashed his thumb on a hit from Broncos linebacker John Mobley. "Of all my injuries, that was the toughest," he would say later.
