Badgers to play at site of NCAA championships
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's golf team will play in the seventh annual Northern Intercollegiate on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 24 and 25, at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois.Â
Here are five things you need to know:
1. Starting Five: The Badgers' lineup for this weekend consists of freshman Griffin Barela, junior Jordan Hahn, senior Eddie Wajda, and sophomores Nick Robinson and Pete Kuhl. Freshman Robbie Morway will compete as an individual.
2. The Field: A total of 12 teams will compete this weekend. In addition to Wisconsin, Eastern Kentucky, Grand Canyon, Illinois State, Iowa State, Louisiana-Monroe, Loyola (Md.), Marquette, Michigan, Northern Illinois, Purdue and Virginia will tee it up starting Sunday.
3. The Format: Sunday will consist of 36 holes with a shotgun start beginning at 8:15 a.m. Monday's final round will be 18 holes with players starting on holes #1 and #10 at 7:45 a.m.
4. Championship Site: Rich Harvest Farms hosted the 2017 NCAA Men's and Women's Golf Championships in May. According to the NCAA, they were the most well-attended NCAA golf championships in the history of the event.Â
5. Quotable: "We are very excited to get back on the road as a team. Coming off the Badger Invitational where we saw a lot of positive things, we had a very competitive qualifier this week and the guys are ready to get to Rich Harvest.
