MADISON, Wis. — Every year after the Crazylegs Classic, participants fill out a survey regarding what they loved about the race and things they thought might make it that much better.
This feedback offers great insight and important planning information for the Crazylegs planning team, led by W Club Executive Director Michael Cergniglia.
Several new and update features will highlight the 2018 event for participants.
"Thanks to requests in the survey from our participants, we're honored to provide everyone with a new performance t-shirt for this year's race," Cergniglia said. Provided by Under Armour, this year's event shirt or "tech tee" will be the first year moving away from the standard cotton t-shirt.
"We're excited to provide our runners and walkers with something nicer and more durable," he added. "Additionally, the shirt will be a heather gray instead of the traditional white t-shirt. These changes came from the minds of the participants and the people that make this event possible and we are elated to have your requests granted."

Further updates to this year's event will add even more fun.
Announced earlier this week, the post-race celebration will feature former Badger basketball player and professional entertainer, Shawna Nicols aka DJ Shawna. She's best known for DJing large events and sporting events for the Bucks, Brewers, Marquette University and most recently the NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four.
For Nicols, it's going to be a special and fun homecoming. "I want every single person in that stadium to go home talking about how incredible the energy in Camp Randall was for Crazylegs 2018!"

In contrast to previous years challenged by local road construction, this April both runners and walkers will also start at the same time on Madison's Capital Square and head down State Street. The W Club worked diligently with the City of Madison to ensure this route could be possible for all participants.
For Cerniglia, the route really emphasizes the family-friendly environment that comes with starting on the Square.
"This element of the race provides an iconic path and an incredibly fun atmosphere," he shared. "The farmers market in the morning brings something for everyone and a really neat setting for people to enjoy."
Cherishing its unique tradition, the Crazylegs Classic will still see participants finish inside Camp Randall Stadium though on the heralded UW turf.
"Only a select few get to experience this amazing feeling," Cergniglia said. "It's a great opportunity to feel that Badger magic!"
