MADISON, Wis. - Returning home after splitting a two-match weekend in Michigan, the Wisconsin women's soccer team (8-2-1 overall, 2-1-1 Big Ten) will host Rutgers (6-1-3, 2-0-1)  and Maryland (3-5-3, 1-2-0) this upcoming weekend.

1. BRIEF RECAP: Wisconsin traveled to Michigan to take on both Michigan and Michigan State this past weekend. The Badgers left the state with one loss and one win. UW was overpowered by the Wolverines, losing 0-2 on Thursday, but refused to stay down for long going into Sunday against the Spartans. Wisconsin got down 1-0 in the 73rd minute but answered one minute later and then added another goal on to defeat Michigan State, 2-1.

2. SCOUTING RUTGERS: Holding down second place in the Big Ten standings, Rutgers holds a 2-0-1 conference record. The team's tie came against first place Nebraska at home. Overall, Rutgers has lost just once, to Monmouth University at home. Rutgers has shutout three opponents this season and has yet to suffer a shutout defeat.

3. SCOUTING MARYLAND: The Terrapins are coming off of back-to-back conference losses to Nebraska and Rutgers. Sitting with a 1-2-0 conference mark, Maryland shutout Iowa, 4-0, for its sole conference victory. Maryland has been shutout five times with two of those five resulting in ties.

4. PAY[TON] DAY: Wisconsin's junior defender Payton Wesley has two goals in her career at UW. The first coming on Sept. 23, 2016 against Purdue. Wesley's second goal came this past weekend against Michigan State, which would ultimately be the game winner for Wisconsin. The goal came from a penalty kick and was Wesley's first goal of 2018.

5. WE LOVE HISTORY: The Badgers hold a 3-1-1 all-time series advantage over Rutgers and a 3-0-0 advantage over Maryland. The last time Wisconsin met these two programs came in 2017. UW faced them both on the road, tying Maryland 2-2 and losing to Rutgers 0-1.
