Badgers see success in fall season
MADISON, WIS.- Wisconsin shot a low score at the Cardinal Cup on Oct. 20, making its final statement of a successful season.
Over the duration of the season, the team recorded three new low scores in the record book and 13 career low scores.
Glass City Invitational:
The first tournament of the fall season saw the Badgers finish in 10th place. Hosted at the famous Inverness Club on Sept. 16-17, the course proved a challenge.
Freshman Emily Lauterbach made her debut for Wisconsin at this tournament. Hungry to contribute and establish herself, she led the team through all three rounds to finish tied for 19th place. She also recorded career low scores for 36-holes (148) and 54-holes (222).

Â
East-West Match Play Challenge:
The Badgers saw immense success as they hosted the East-West Match Play at University Ridge on Sept. 23-24.
Weather caused Sunday's 36 holes of stroke play to be bumped to Monday, canceling match play on Monday altogether. This was no issue for the Badgers however as they secured both the individual and team medalist honors for stroke play and earned themselves a No. 1 seed for the match-play portion. The team's 36-hole score of 579 (+3) was recorded in the team record book as the team's lowest 36-hole score since shooting a 573 at the Clemson Invitational in March of 2018.
The team defeated runner-up Iowa State by two in stroke play, then fell 4-1 in match play. Senior Tess Hackworthy finished in first place for stroke play and was the only Badger to defeat her match-play opponent.
On the individual side, redshirt junior Bobbi Stricker claimed first place in match play. She took down her opponent from Texas Tech, Louisa Brundt, after playing 21 holes. From stroke play, Stricker broke both her 18- and 36- hole career low scores. Eloise Healey also joins Stricker in breaking both career lows.
