Men's soccer senior earns academic honor
MADISON, Wis. -Â Wisconsin men's soccer senior Noah Leibold has proven to not just be a weapon on the field, but also in the classroom.
A midfielder and captain, Leibold earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America, (CoSIDA). This award recognizes student-athletes for their outstanding work in academics and athletics. Leibold is just one of four men's soccer players in the Big Ten to receive the honor.
Leibold comes from Weisbaden, Germany and chose Wisconsin so he could work hard at soccer and his academics. He has been successful at both during his time here at UW.Â
Leibold has started in 71 of his 72 matches played at Wisconsin and has scored five goals in that span of time. In his debut season as a Badger he was named to the Big Ten All-Freshmen Team and earlier this year received All-Big Ten preseason honors.
Academically, Noah sits at the top of the team with the highest GPA at 3.942. He majors in neurobiology and plans to get into the medical field post graduation.Â
With his stellar performance in soccer and academics, Leibold will continue to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. These honorees will be announced early this December.
In addition to this award, Leibold also was announced as the BIg Ten Sportsmanship Award winner for Wisconsin.
