Five things to know: Badgers on the road

Wisconsin competes in first away matches of the season

MADISON, Wis. – After beginning the season 6-0 and hosting back-to-back three-match weekends, the Wisconsin women's tennis team is hitting the road. The Badgers will compete against Denver in Denver, Colorado at 6:30 p.m. CT on Friday and DePaul, also in Denver, at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

1: TIME OFF: Wisconsin had the past week off after its most recent match against Northern Illinois. UW's last competition came on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 against Marquette, Iowa State and NIU. The Badgers left that weekend with a 6-0 record and a 7-0 victory over MU, 5-2 victory over ISU and a 7-0 victory over NIU.

2: SCOUTING DENVER: Denver currently posts a 5-1 record in the 2019 dual season, including four wins in a row. Denver has shutout New Mexico, Northern Colorado and Colorado. The program opened the season with a victory against Oregon in a neutral match, suffered a loss to Pepperdine and then went on its winning streak. Denver's Bianca Mok currently sits No. 88 in the nation among singles players.

3: SCOUTING DEPAUL: The Blue Demons are 3-4 on the season up to this point, with wins coming all in a row against Georgetown, Butler and Colorado. DePaul has suffered defeats to three Big Ten teams: Minnesota, Iowa and Purdue and also Western Michigan.

4: WE STILL HERE: Wisconsin senior Sara Castellano and sophomore Lexi Keberle both remain ranked in singles competition for the dual season. Castellano sits in the top 50 with a No. 35 ranking, posting a 6-0 record in spring competition. Keberle, also 6-0, sits No. 61 in the nation. The two women have been playing in Wisconsin's No. 1 and No. 2 singles' positions all season.

5: HISTORY: The Badgers are going up against fresh faces this weekend when they take on Denver and DePaul. UW has seen Denver once in program history, all the way back in 2001, a match in which UW won, 5-2. Wisconsin has met DePaul just eight times in program history, the most recent meeting taking place in 2014. The Badgers hold a 3-5 record against the Blue Demons all-time.
