Seven Badgers invited to U23 Selection Camps this summer
MADISON, Wis. – USRowing announced the athletes invited to the 2019 Under 23 Men's and Women's National Team Selection Camps this summer. Among the list invited are seven Badgers across all three Wisconsin teams.
For the Women's Open Under-23 Selection Camp, sophomore Isa Darvin was selected for the sweep camp while juniors Rebekah Armstrong and Lauren O'Connor were selected for the sculling camp. This is the first invitation for all three Badgers.
On the men's side, sophomore Jimmy Catalano was one of four coxswains invited to the Men's Under-23 Selection Camp and junior Jacob Wenner made the camp waitlist.
The lightweight team will also be represented in the camp selection as sophomore Grace D'Souza was selected for the Women's Lightweight Under-23 Selection Camp, while junior Rachel Illgen made the camp waitlist.
The 2019 World Rowing Under-23 Championships are scheduled for July 24-28 in Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida.
