Five Things to Know: East-West Match Play Challenge

MADISON, Wis.- The women's golf team will be hosting this year's East-West Match Play Challenge at University Ridge this upcoming Sunday-Tuesday.
Here are five things to know before they tee off on Sunday morning
1. Leader in Lauterbach: Freshman Emily Lauterbach finished first for the Badgers earlier this week in the Glass City Invitational, finishing tied for 19th overall. She will be a part of the five person team this coming week, along with junior Claire Fitzgerald, sophomore Tracy Lee, redshirt junior Eloise Healey and redshirt senior Tess Hackwothy.Â
2. The Individuals: Redshirt junior Bobbi Stricker, junior Mackenzie Hahn and freshman Nicole Ciskowski will be competing as individuals for Wisconsin. This will be Ciskowski's first time competing for the Badgers.
3. East-West History: Last year the tournament was hosted by the University of Michigan at Radrick Farms Golf Course. The Badgers placed seventh. Sophomore Tracy Lee defeated A. Schwienteck of Texas A&M 3&2 and overall the Badgers defeated Texas A&M 3-2.
4. The Format and the Field: Sunday will be stroke play to determine seeding for Monday and Tuesday. The top four teams will be placed into the championship bracket while the other four teams will be placed into the consolation bracket. Monday and Tuesday will be match play. Winners of match play will be decided by the first team to reach three points (one point per each individual win). Other teams competing include Grand Canyon, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Texas Tech and UC Davis.
5. And They're Off: Sunday will be a 9 a.m. shotgun, Monday tee times will start at 9 a.m. off holes one and 10 and Tuesday tee times will start at 8:30 a.m. off holes one and 10.
