UW extends its record to 3-0 with a win over DePaul
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's tennis team extended its undefeated record to three on Friday after defeating DePaul, 5-2, at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Badgers (3-0-0) now hold a 20-1 all-time series record and a 10-game winning streak against DePaul.
After a tough battle in doubles play, the Badgers entered singles action with a 0-1 deficit. Freshman Gabriel Huber put up the first win after defeating Boris Spanjaard, in two sets, 7-5, 6-3. Shortly after, Jared Pratt and Jesper Freimuth recorded two more wins for Wisconsin by dominating their opponents, Tamas Zador and Tripp Tuff, respectively, in straight sets.
But it wasn't until freshman Robin Parts overpowered Christopher Casati in a thrilling 7-5, 7-5 match that the Badgers clinched the win over DePaul.
Robert Krill's effort in singles play was not unnoticed, as he defeated his opponent, Luuk Wassenaar, in a third set. He recorded the fifth win of the day for the Badgers.
