Badgers host Princeton, Green Bay, and IUPUI next weekend
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's tennis team is on a hot streak as they start off their spring season with an undefeated record. The Badgers (5-0) are eager to continue their reign this weekend as they host Princeton on Friday, and Green Bay and IUPUI on Saturday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. All matches are free to the public.
1. FRESHMAN FEVER: Freshman Gabriel Huber and Robin Parts have started their first spring season for the Badgers on a roll, having not lost a match yet. In singles play, Huber is 4-0, Parts is 3-0, and the duo is 1-0 in doubles action. The freshman are ready for another weekend of competitive play.
2. SCOUTING PRINCETON: UW will host the Tigers on Friday, January 31st at 6 p.m. for the first time since 2016. The Badgers hold the lead in the all-time series record, 6-2, along with a 1-0 home record. The last time these two teams battled, Princeton came out on top defeating Wisconsin, 6-1, after UW claimed the doubles point, but struggled in singles play. Currently, Princeton is 2-0 after sweeping Buffalo and Drexel, 7-0. They will play Marquette on Friday shortly before our matchup.
3. SCOUTING GREEN BAY: It's another year of the in-state rivalry between Green Bay and the Badgers. Wisconsin is looking to increase their overall winning series record of 11-1 at home on Saturday at 1 p.m. by extending their winning streak to five matches against the Phoenix. Last year, UW swept, 7-0, at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Phoenix are currently 1-0 after defeating DePaul on Sunday in a 4-3 win.
4. SCOUTING IUPUI: The Badgers will take on the Jaguars on Saturday at 6 p.m. for the first time in school history. IUPUI holds a 1-1 record. They were swept by Northwestern, 4-0, but earned a win against Saint Louis, defeating the Billikens, 4-3.
