Three Badgers in top 20 after round two
SACRAMENTO, CALIF.— The Wisconsin women's golf team is in good standing after the first two rounds at the Gunrock Invitational at the Del Paso Country Club on Monday. Finishing a blustery day in third place at 614 (+38), the Badgers have three players in the top 20 after 36 holes.
Battlling gusty winds on the first day of the tournament, redshirt juniors Eloise Healey and Bobbi Stricker finished day one tied for fifth place with each shooting 149 (+5) through 36 holes. Healey's first round of 71 (-1) was one of just four rounds shot under par by the entire field through 36 holes. Stricker tied her 36-hole career low of 149 strokes.
Redshirt senior Tess Hackworthy joins Healey and Stricker among the top 20 players, tying for 20th with a 12-over-par 156 (77-79).
The final round starts Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. CT.
