AMES, Iowa — Tournament competition continued for the Badgers and Sunday saw five out of six Wisconsin wrestlers competing at the Iowa State Harold Nichols Cyclone Open earn placing finishes in the tournament's Freshman/Sophomore Division. All Badgers competed unattached in the open tournament.

Sophomore Cody Anderson (165 pounds) and Jonah Schmidtke (285) both finished in second place overall in their brackets, while freshman teammate Graham Calhoun (174) placed third, freshman Andrew Sanders (184) finished fourth and freshman Cale Anderson (157) finished fifth overall. Freshman Jack Severin (141) also competed in the Cyclone Open tournament.

Several Badgers saw notable wins. Cale Anderson pinned Iowa Central's Remington Hanson in 2:37 during his second match of the day, then later collected a 11-3 major decision win over Iowa State's Andrew Huddleston to earn the fifth-place victory.

Calhoun picked up a nice 19-4 tech fall victory over Iowa Central's Jesus Gutierrez and Sanders also collected a 19-4 tech fall over Caden Schmidt of the Iowa State Wrestling Club during his third match of the tournament. Schmidtke earned a 10-0 major decision against Nathaniel Fernandez of the Iowa State W.C. in his tournament-opening match.

Full results from the tournament are below. Wisconsin returns to tournament competition next Saturday, Dec. 4 with wrestlers tentatively scheduled to compete in both the SIUE Cougar Clash in Edwardsville, Illinois and the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open at UW-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
