Two-time Big Ten Goalkeeper of the year becomes sixth Badger drafted in NWSL

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin women's soccer goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer was selected 26th overall by Racing Louisville FC in the National Women's Soccer League draft on Saturday.

Bloomer, a two-time Big Ten goalkeeper of the year, became the sixth Badger drafted in the NWSL. It also marks the third-straight year a Badger has been drafted in the first two rounds of the draft as Victoria Pickett was selected by Kansas City in the second round last year while Cam Biegalski was a second-round selection by the Washington Spirit in the 2019 NWSL Draft.

The Hartland, Wisconsin, native started all 22 games between the posts for the Badgers and helped lead them to the third round of the NCAA tournament. She boasts a .65 career goals against average and .823 career save percentage.

She recorded nine shutouts in her super-senior campaign and made 82 saves on the season.

In 2019, Bloomer was named First Team All-American and First Team All-Big Ten after recording 12 shutouts and allowing just 10 goals against all season.

Bloomer was also a finalist for the 2020-2021 Senior CLASS Award that honors student-athletes who excelled on the field, in the classroom, and in their community.
