December 02, 2021 | Men's Hockey, NHL Badgers
Former UW captain becomes first Badger in history to reach 400 goals
Joe Pavelski recently became the first Badger in history to reach a major career milestone. The Wisconsin-native reached 400 career NHL goals when he found the back of the net twice in the Stars' matchup against the Arizona Coyotes on Nov. 27. He also became the 10th American-born player to do so, putting him in the ranks of John Leclair and Patrick Kane. A veteran in his 16th NHL season, Pavelski continues to stay hot with seven points in three games and 14 points in November.Â

Cole Caufield made the jump back up to the big leagues after a brief stint with the Laval Rocket in the AHL. While it's nothing new to Badger fans, the 2021 Hobey Baker winner scored a gravity-defying goal against the Washington Capitals on Nov. 24.Â

Another former-Badger, K'Andre Miller, scored a highlight-reel-worthy goal where he carried the puck coast to coast before driving hard to the net in the New York Ranger's 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers. Miller continues to solidify himself as an integral component of the Ranger's elite defensive core.Â

Defenseman Ryan Suter is als heating up with three points (one goal, two assists) in his last five games with the Dallas Stars, averaging 0.55 points per game on the blue line this season. He is closing in on 100 career goals from the blue line, which would make him the third Badger to reach that mark, joining his uncle Gary Suter and Chris Chelios is the select club.
Wanna catch some of the action? The Wisconsin Badgers are holding their annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by BMO Harris Bank on Dec. 11 during their matchup against Penn State at the Kohl Center. Bring a teddy bear to toss on the ice to donate to Toys for Tots this holiday season!
