Badgers host fourth teddy bear toss on Dec. 11
Rosters: Wisconsin || Penn State
Here are six quick things to know before tuning in:
1 - CONGRATULATIONS GRANATO: Head coach Tony Granato officially becomes the eighth Badger inducted into the U.S Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the 2020 class of honorees on Thursday, Dec. 2. The event will induct both the 2020 and 2021 classes since the 2020 ceremony never happened because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Granato boasts a legacy in both playing and coaching at the professional and international levels. He represented Team USA at six major international events, including the 1988 Olympic Winter Games. Granato skated for the New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks during his 13-year playing career and helped the Kings reach the 1993 Stanley Cup Final. A two-time All-American for the Badgers, Granato was a finalist for the 1987 Hobey Baker Memorial Award after his 73-point senior season and finished his collegiate career as Wisconsin's third leading scorer with 100 goals.
Now through five seasons, Granato owns a pair of Big Ten Coach of the Year honors and the 2021 Big Ten title to his resume and has coached numerous successful NHL stars such as Cole Caufield and K'Andre Miller.
Special day on Thursday for @TonyGranato and the Granato family as he officially goes into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame
