UW drops 3-1 tilt at Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Wisconsin women's soccer team dropped its first Big Ten Conference match in more than a year with a 3-1 setback at Ohio State on Thursday afternoon.

The Badgers (1-1-0) saw their 13-game conference regular-season unbeaten streak draw to a close at the hands of the Buckeyes (1-1-0) in UW's first road trip of 2021.

Ohio State scored goals in the 11th and 36th minutes to take a 2-0 lead into the break. Despite outshooting the Buckeyes 8-4 in the first half, UW was down 2-0 after 45 minutes.

In the 88th minute, sophomore forward Claire Odmark found the goal for a second-straight game.

The score sparked a push in the Badger offense that saw All-American goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer come towards midfield for a last minute attempt to tie the game. The Buckeyes added another goal in the 90th minute to close out the match.

Notes to Know:
- UW outshot Ohio State 18-13, including a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Badgers also had six corner kicks to the Buckeye's five.
- Cameron Murtha picked up her first assist of the year on Odmark's goal.
