Top-five finish for the Badgers in Big Ten Championships

Badgers continue to dominate 200 Back, win event fourth-year straight
MINNEAPOLIS - Phoebe Bacon kept the streak going for the Badgers and won the 200 Back (1:50.90) to make it the fourth year in a row that Wisconsin has won the event. Her two first-place events, along with the efforts of her teammates resulted in a fifth-place finish for the Badgers in the Big Ten Championship meet where they scored 749.5 points.
Another outstanding performance came from Mara Newman who also placed in the 200 Back. She swam a time of 1:54.18 to place fifth in the event.
In the last even of the meet, Lillie Hosack, Phoebe Bacon, Alana Palmer and Isabel Lampre placed fourth in the 400 Free Relay. They finished with a time of 3:15.71.
On the diving side of things Tazman Abramowicz placed fourth for the men's team on the Platform. He scored 395.50 after taking 10th in the 3M yesterday (350.40).
Freshman, Emily Ecker raced phenomenally in the 1650 free. She placed eighth and finished with a time of 16:16.23.
After five days of competition, the Badgers took fifth place as a team for women's swim and dive. They scored the most they have in the last three seasons at the championship meet. The final team standings went as followed:

An honor well deserved! Despite some challenges this year, this team persevered and scored our highest point total in the last three seasons.
