Wisconsin locks in 5-2 win over Maryland
MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin women's tennis team picked up its second straight win on Sunday, earning a 5-2 victory over Maryland at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

The Badgers (5-4 overall, 4-3 Big Ten) jumped right into their lead by winning the doubles point. Antonela Stoica and Ava Markham were the first pair to bring home a win, followed by Charmaine Seah and Anna Makarova claiming their match, 7-5, to clinch the doubles point.

In singles, Makarova, Markham, Seah, and Semenovski each won in straight-sets. Makarova was the first Badger to add a point for the Badgers with her 6-0, 6-1 win over the Terrapins' Zoe Kulkarni. Markham was the second singles victor, followed by Seah who clinched the match-winning point for UW with her 6-1, 6-3 win over Vera Markovic. Semenovski rounded out the effort by winning her match 6-2, 6-4 against Eva Alexandrova.

The Badgers travel to Indiana for a pair of road matches, set to face Indiana on Friday before playing Purdue on Sunday.
