MADISON, Wis. – Five members of the Wisconsin volleyball team have been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Northeast Regional team, the AVCA announced on Tuesday.

Dana Rettke repeats as AVCA Northeast Regional Player of the Year and is joined on the team by senior
Lauren Barnes, senior
Sydney Hilley, senior
Grace Loberg and freshman
Devyn Robinson. Redshirt senior
Molly Haggerty was selected honorable mention all-region.
All players are now eligible for AVCA All-America honors, which will be announced on April 21.

Rettke becomes just the third Badger to earn four all-region honors, joining Sherisa Livington (1998-2001) and Lauren Carlini (2013-16) as four-time award winners. Hilley becomes a three-time all-region honoree while Loberg has earned two all-region distinctions. Barnes and Robinson are both first-time members of the team.

Rettke repeats as Player of the Year
Rettke is the first Badger to be named Regional Player of the Year since the award was begun in 2017. The 6-foot-8 middle blocker leads the Big Ten and ranks second nationally with 1.67 blocks per set. She also ranks second in the conference and eighth nationally in hitting percentage at .456. Rettke leads the Badgers with 3.29 kills per set, which ranks 10th in the Big Ten. She is just the second Badger to earn four first-team All-Big Ten honors.

Barnes, Hilley, Loberg and Robinson net honors
Barnes earned second-team All-Big Ten honors this season after leading the Badgers and ranking sixth in the Big Ten with 4.19 digs per set.

Hilley was named the Big Ten Setter of the Year for the second straight year in 2020-21. She ranks third in the Big Ten with 10.87 assists per set, leading the Badgers to a Big Ten-best .342 hitting percentage. Hilley also ranks second on the team with 2.18 digs per set.

Loberg ranks second on the Badgers with 2.89 kills per set while hitting a season-best .304. A two-time member of the All-Big Ten team, the 6-foot-3 outside hitter also ranks second on the team with 0.37 service aces per set while ranking third with 2.11 digs per set.

Robinson was named to the All-Big Ten first team, becoming just the fourth Badger rookie to earn all-conference honors. The 6-foot-2 right-side hitter ranks second on the team and third in the Big Ten with a .427 hitting percentage. She ranks third on the UW with 2.64 kills per set and ranks second with 0.88 blocks per set.

Badgers are top seed in NCAA tournament
The Badgers are the top seed in the NCAA Championship and received a first-round bye in the tournament. Wisconsin (15-0) takes on the winner of the first-round match between Bowling Green (22-1) and Weber State (18-1) in the second round on Thursday at 6 p.m. live on ESPN3 in the CHI Health Center Convention Center.

Wisconsin is competing in its 24th overall and eighth-straight NCAA tournament under head coach
Kelly Sheffield. The Badgers are 51-23 all time in the tournament and have finished as the NCAA runners up three times – 2000, 2013 and 2019.
