Wisconsin wins doubles point but drops 6-1 decision to No. 12 Illinois
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The Wisconsin men's tennis team (4-9, 4-8 Big Ten) claimed the doubles point but ultimately fell short in a 6-1 loss to No. 12 Illinois on Friday at the Atkins Tennis Center.
The freshman duo of Tim Dzhurinksiy and Mihailo Popovic dominated their match at No. 3 doubles with a 6-2 win Noe Khlif and Hunter Heck. At No. 2, seniors Jesper Freimuth and Lenard Soha clinched the doubles point by winning their fifth straight match, a 6-4 victory over Illinois' Alex Bancila and Aleksander Kovacevic.

The Badgers head to Evanston, Ill., on Sunday to compete in their final road match of the season against No. 47 Northwestern, beginning at noon.
