MADISON, Wis. – The No. 20 Wisconsin women's openweight rowing team travels to Indianapolis for the 2021 Big Ten Rowing Championships, which are set for Sunday at Eagle Creek Park.
It's been a long road to the event for the Badgers and Big Ten rowers, who last competed for a conference championship in 2019 at Devil's Lake State Park in Baraboo.
UW took third as the host school for the 2019 event. The 2020 event and season never happened due to COVID-19.
The 2020-21 season continues in its abnormality with the Badgers having taken part in just four events all school year, and all since March 13, with no fall campaign.
Some normalcy returns on Sunday with the Big Ten title on the line.
IN THE RANKS: The Badgers enter at No. 20 in the Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association May 12 poll as the sixth Big Ten program ranked in the top 20. No. 5 Rutgers, No. 6 Michigan and No. 7 Ohio State lead the league contingent with Indiana at No. 9 and Minnesota at No. 16. Iowa is also receiving votes.
NCAA SELECTIONS: The field for the 2021 NCAA Championships will be announced on Tuesday, May 18. This year's event takes place May 28-30 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. The Badgers have made the NCAA championships for 12 consecutive seasons, not counting the canceled 2020 event, and in 14 of head coach Bebe Bryans' 15 seasons that an NCAA championships took place.
UW owns 16 NCAA championships appearances since the event began in 1997.

9:20 a.m. – Varsity Four

11:30 a.m. – Awards Ceremony

- Please note that fans will not have beach access at the 2021 Big Ten Rowing Championships. Fans will be able to enter Eagle Creek Park and watch from areas away from the beach. There is a fee for entering the park.
