MADISON, Wis. – Led by potential first-round NHL draft pick Corson Ceulemans, four incoming Badgers and one returning player are among those who could hear their names called when the 2021 NHL Entry Draft takes place this Friday and Saturday, July 23-24.
Friday's first round will air on ESPN2 starting at 7 p.m. CT, while the balance of the draft will air Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. on NHL Network.

Ceulemans, a defenseman and Beaumont, Alberta, native, helped Team Canada win the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championship. Listed at No. 14 in NHL Central Scouting's Final Rankings for the draft among North American skaters, the rearguard would give UW seven first-round picks in the last six drafts (Luke Kunin, Trent Frederic, K'Andre Miller, Alex Turcotte, Cole Caufield, Dylan Holloway).
With limited viewing of prospects by scouts this past year for the 2021 NHL Draft due to the COVID-19 pandemic, unpredictability is expected to reign on where players get drafted.
