Badgers and Bears battle to 0-0 draw in Madison

Goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer makes four saves en route to UW's fifth shutout of the season
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's soccer team tied Baylor 0-0 in a hard fought double-overtime match on Sunday at the McClimon Soccer Complex.
The first half was a quiet one for the Badgers (3-1-2) and Bears (3-2-1) as UW claimed the first corner kick of the game at the 43 minute mark.
Badgers goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer opened up the second half with a diving save to keep Baylor at bay.
Lauren Rice came up with an excellent scoring opportunity in the 63rd minute but her shot was blocked by a Baylor defender.
The Badgers and Baylor headed into overtime to break the 0-0 stalemate after 90 minutes of regulation play.
Bloomer came up with another crucial save in the 98th minute of play to help force a second overtime period.
Neither team found the back of the net in the second extra period, tying the match 0-0.
Wisconsin out shot Baylor 11-8 and both teams had four corner kick opportunities. Bloomer had four saves in the shutout effort.

Wisconsin heads to Milwaukee on Thursday to face the Milwaukee Panthers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Following that game, UW will host Providence on Sunday, Sept. 12 at noon at the McClimon Soccer Complex.

- Bloomer earned her second shutout of the weekend and now has four shutouts on the season and 30 in her career for the Cardinal and White.
