
Wisconsin adds host of support staff

Kelly and Steltenpohl bolster Brand Communications; Brinkley, Gilles and Leach join sport operations

Meg Kelly joined the Badgers in July and oversees the communications and creative content efforts for UW's women's basketball, women's soccer and women's tennis teams. Kelly came to Madison after working last year at UConn. An accomplished photographer and videographer, Kelly also spent seven years in Athletic Communications at Boston University, Loyola Marymount, Harvard and the Northeast Conference. A native of Reading, Massachusetts, Kelly played softball and earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Rhode Island before getting advanced degrees from Lasell College and Boston University.
Ashley Steltenpohl came to UW in October to assist with the communication and creative content strategy for the Badger volleyball and softball teams. Steltenpohl joins the Badgers after spending five years at UW-Milwaukee, most recently serving as the Director of Content Creation & Strategy. She combines experience in communications and creative strategy as well as a coaching background, spending seven seasons as the head softball coach at UW-Stevens Point (2015-18) and Marian University (2011-15). A native of Wisconsin Rapids, Steltenpohl graduated from UW-Oshkosh and earned her Master's degree at Marian University.
Princess Brinkley is tasked with handling the sport operations for Wisconsin's men's soccer team as well as the cross country and track & field program. Brinkley joins UW after spending the last two years at Special Olympics Wisconsin and the Boys & Girls Club – Americorps in Bloomington, Ind. She also worked two seasons in the Indiana University ticket office from 2018-2020. An All-American thrower on the Hoosiers track and field team, Brinkley earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Kinesiology from IU.
Ryan Gilles comes to Wisconsin to oversee the sport operations for the Badgers wrestling and softball teams. Gilles spent last season as the Director of Softball Operations at Iowa State. Prior to his tenure with the Cyclones, he served as the Director of Baseball Operations for two seasons at Belmont University and worked in the Guest Services and Marketing offices for the Nashville Predators and Tennessee Titans. A former prep softball and women's basketball coach, Gilles graduated from UW-La Crosse and earned a Master's degree from Belmont.
Anna Leach moves into a new role with the Badgers for the 2022-23 season. After three years working in the UW ticket office, most recently as an Assistant Ticket Director, Leach will now oversee the sport operation for the Wisconsin women's soccer team as well as the swimming & diving program. A former rower for the Badgers and Ironman finisher, Leach earned both her Bachelors and Master's degree from Wisconsin.
